Seit der letzten Fußball-Weltmeisterschaft sind Deutschlandflaggen hierzulande en vogue. Deutschland-Symbole können jedoch immer noch Traumata berühren. Die Ausstellung Nachbarn zeigt die Verarbeitung von Deutschlandbildern in der polnischen Gegenwartskunst. 19 Künstler reagieren auf existierende Vorstellungen über Deutschland und die deutsch-polnische Vergangenheit im polnischen Kollektivbewusstsein. Eine künstlerische Vergangenheitsbewältigung ist entstanden. Statt Klischees finden sich Versuche einer Dekonstruktion. Denn ein künstlerisch formalisiertes Klischee begleitet – im Optimalfall – der Appell zu seiner Auflösung.

Welche Bilder von und über Deutsche existieren in Polen und bestimmen die Nachbarschaft? Der Zweite Weltkrieg wirft nach wie vor Schatten auf das polnisch-deutsche Verhältnis. Wie sehen die heutigen Nachbarschafts-Beziehungen aus und wie sehr bestimmen die Traumata der Vergangenheit die Gegenwart? Diese und andere Fragen bieten reichlich Diskussionsstoff. agitPolska e.V. veranstaltet zur Ausstellung Nachbarn. Deutsche Motive in polnischer Gegenwartskunst am Donnerstag, 21. Hier werden Fragen und Probleme, die die beiden Nachbarn Polen und Deutschland verbinden, erörtert.Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Schlott, außerordentlicher Professor für neuere slavische Kultur- und Literaturgeschichte an der Universität Bremen und der Historiker Georg Erdelbrock, Spezialist für polnisch-deutsche Geschichte, stellen sich der Diskussion.
